This video starts when things start to feel "pushy." Up until this point I was silent during my contractions.

The sounds women make in labor may make it seem as if it is painful, but I can assure you pain was not part of this birth experience. The sounds of pushing help when using all your effort, just like with intense exercise (tennis players hitting the ball). With this birth it really just felt like I needed to have a BM.
I didn't want any noise around me or anyone talking. My birth team was great because they really just left me to do my work without disturbance.
I did appreciate my midwife saying to go slow when I feel the burn. She said it at the exact right time and that definately helped make getting the head out so easy and gentle. It is one of the great things about midwifery care, they observe you so carefully that they know just where you are and what you need.
Our son was born in our home in the presence of my husband, my daughter (2 1/2 at the time), my mom, 2 friends (mom and daughter), and 2 midwives.

@chiac25 you can ... @chiac25 you can always transfer to a birth center.? They will allow you to either birth in water or on a stool or even in the bed. Dont settle one something. Make sure you do all your research before giving birth.

It is your choice ... It is your choice what you want to do with the placenta. You can bury it and plant a tree over it, consume it (yes, that's what I said, I mean eat it or encapsulate it to take it in pill form), or take it in to be disposed of at the hospital.
I want people to see this b/c people need to see what natural undisturbed birth looks like. It's nothing like what you see on TV or in movies. This? is normal birth but yet so surprising to most see birth so calm and peaceful

You can always ... You can always choose not to get out of the tub to give birth. They may try to force you just don't go? or lock the bathroom door until the baby is out. Everything is always your choice.
I chose to give ... I chose to give birth at hoem because I trust birth is a normal process when undisturbed by people treating you like there is something wrong with you. Pregnant women are not sick, we are normal highly functioning human beings and we know exactly how to get our babies out without help. When we interfere from the outside? things tend to go wrong, hence all the interventions used in hospitals. As long as all runs smoothly there is no reason to go to the hospital after.
I'm seriously ... I'm seriously considering becoming a midwife and thanks to people like you who are willing to put their births online I am learning more? and more about what my job would be and watching this video was inspirational. Great job mama! :)

why did you choose ... why did you choose to have a water birth opposed to going to the hospital? Once the baby was delivered did you have to then? go to the hospital after that? (having my second baby due in August...but contemplating different methods of birth with this one?
Wow this was ... Wow this was amazing to watch! I'm 17 weeks and planning on having a natural birth. I have a midwife but will be having my baby at a hospital because of? cost. They have tubs there for you to labor in water and that is what I hope to do. I wanted to give birth in the water but my midwife said that they won't allow it in a hospital. I wish I could experience this!
